Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Willie. By applying, creating an account, or using Willie you accept these terms, our Community Guidelines, and our Privacy Policy. The version and effective date of each document are shown at the top of its page, and we record the versions you accepted when you create your account.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Willie. You may not use Willie if we have previously removed your access.

Willie is a private network. Applying does not create an account and does not guarantee access. We review each application individually and may invite, waitlist, or decline any application at our discretion. Accounts are created only with a valid invitation. Invitations are personal, single-use, and may not be sold, shared, or transferred.

Provide accurate information about yourself and keep it current. You are responsible for your password and for activity under your account. One person, one account. Tell us at legal@usewillie.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Willie exists for professional introductions. Connections and conversations require the other member to accept. Do not use Willie for romantic or sexual solicitation, and do not contact members in ways they have not agreed to. Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms.

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give Willie a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service, including showing your profile to other members and generating thumbnails or previews of links you add. This license ends when the content is removed, except for copies kept in backups or required by law. You confirm you have the rights to everything you post.

The Willie service, its software, design, text, and the Willie name and wordmark belong to us. These terms give you no right to use our branding, copy our design, or build a competing or derivative service from Willie's content.

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-export member information, by any manual or automated means.
• Send spam, chain messages, unsolicited pitches at scale, or recruit members off the service in bulk.
• Impersonate anyone, misrepresent your role or affiliations, or create an account for someone else without their authorization.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, demean, or discriminate against anyone.
• Post unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or malicious content, or attempt to defraud members.
• Circumvent access controls, invitation requirements, rate limits, or moderation, or probe or test the security of the service without our written permission.
• Interfere with the operation of Willie or use it in violation of any applicable law.

We may review reports, remove content, limit features, suspend or terminate an account, and revoke invitations when we believe these terms or our Community Guidelines have been broken, or to protect members or the service. Where reasonable we will tell you why. You may stop using Willie at any time and may request deletion of your account from your profile screen or by writing to legal@usewillie.com.

Profiles and asks may link to other websites and services, such as an artist page, video, or portfolio. Those services are not ours, we do not control or endorse them, and their own terms and privacy practices apply.

Willie is an early-stage service under active development. We may add, change, or remove features, and the service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

Willie is provided as is. We do not verify every claim a member makes about their work, experience, or affiliations, and we do not guarantee that you will receive introductions, replies, work, or any particular outcome. To the extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Decisions you make about other members are yours.

To the extent permitted by law, Willie is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, or the conduct of other members. Our total liability for any claim relating to Willie is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Willie harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable expenses arising out of your content, your use of Willie, or your breach of these terms, to the extent caused by you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Willie consent to that jurisdiction.

If we change these terms we will update the version and effective date above and, for material changes, notify members. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
